Zhoushan Shengsi Mangrove Resort Hotel

Location: Zhejiang, China

Site Area: 112.0 ha

Building Area: 74,485 sqm

Client: Antaeus Group

This project is located in the southern province of Zhoushan Shengsi Island County, at Dongku Island, and the southern end of Gouqi Island. ZNA recommended four high-end resort hotels to allow the visitor to dramatically experience the coastline of cliffs and rocky shoals. The hotels will take full advantage of the views and beautiful Shengsi Island scenery and pleasant weather. In the master planning of the Dongku Island, the designers considered the character of an original small fishermen town of many old buildings and reconstructed them into a new town in a medieval British style. The respect for the lifestyle of the fishermen was most important in developing the concepts. In the master planning of the Gouqi Island, the designers used the smaller scale product of new boutique hotels to infill the architecture of the existing mussel farms on a remote part of the island to create a comfortable and unique resort experience.
